Sutton Ashford
To them:
She is magnificent, in everything she does. Her looks aren't the only thing people crave to have for themselves, but her kindness. She's a mystery to most. They can't help but get lost in the presence that is Sutton Ashford.
To her:
Sutton is home. She is passion. She is light. The woman surpasses everything she has ever needed, everything she has ever wanted. She's the woman who refuses to wear heels less than three inches. She is the woman who sleeps at the very edge of the bed and takes up only the slightest room. She's the woman who has the most difficult time showing affection, but when she does it's magnificent. She is the woman who has a secret obsession with junk food. She's the woman who refuses to wear sweatpants, even around the house. She is the woman who is fiercely stubborn, and won't take no for an answer. She's the woman who leaves her clothes, shoes, and everything else laying around no matter how many times she is scolded for doing so. She is the woman who has absolutely no talent in the kitchen. She's the woman that loves to spoil those around her. She is known and yet unknown. But most importantly, Sutton is hers.

April 4th, 1971, Sutton Elaine Whitman was brought into the world. To a mother. Loving would be a stretch. She grew up with her mother, a bi-polar woman who resented her daughter for the absence of the young girl's father, regardless of how untrue that was. Growing up without a father had it's disadvantages. Sutton missed out on father-daughter dances. She didn't have that protective male figure in her life, like all of her friends had. More importantly, she wouldn't have anyone to walk her down the isle.
Most of her youth was spent at school. She busied herself with activities. She tried her hand in everything. Volleyball (she was MVP on her high school team for two years straight), Cheerleading, and Drama. Anything she could get involved in, she did, so long as it kept her away from home. When she was home, she kept herself locked in her room looking at magazines of all of these extraordinary women that she wished she could be. Of course that would never happen. She wasn't the prettiest girl, and often got made fun of for her red hair, pale skin, and freckles. And her mother assured her daily that she wouldn't succeed in life. Sutton believed her, up until she met George Lacey her Junior year in 1988. George Lacey was a well-known talent agent. He had discovered those very faces that Sutton had seen on the cover of her magazines. He had happened to be at her school's football game, where he was watching his son play. After the girls had done their cheer routine, Sutton's coach had pulled her aside saying that someone wanted to talk to her. That was when George entered her life. He promised her things that exceeded her imagination. He told her that he would make her known. No longer would she be Sutton Whitman. She didn't want to be her mother's daughter any longer. She wanted to be her own person. She went into modeling a new person, with a new name, Sutton Ashford.
Her rise to fame began in 1990 when she was featured in Elle's "Fresh Faces" article, a piece that was written once every decade. The five girls spotlighted in each decade's article were practically guaranteed a promising future in modeling. By 1992, she had modelled in France, Japan, and the U.S, and been featured on the cover of Vogue magazine. Sutton was well known for that previously revolting red hair, and honored for it. That pale skin that she had been ashamed of before, was now something to be coveted. Women all over the country begged to know her beauty secrets, what was in her closet, what perfume she wore...and men did absolutely everything in their power to make her their's. But she belonged to no one. She had quickly become one of the most beloved women in America. She wasn't some entity that no one could touch. She wasn't known just for her beauty, but her kindness in giving to charities, and giving time to her fans.
Sutton was always careful to keep her personal life just that...personal. She required her privacy to keep doing what she was doing. She loved the attention, and that people actually wanted to know and be her, but she was still just a human being who needed her space. Living her life carefully had become a job of it's own, but one she handled well. If she was dating someone, there weren't tabloids being printed the next day with her on the front page. She made sure she had a piece of herself to keep close, that no one else could see.
In 2011 she decided to retire from modeling. It was the most painful decision of her life. She had wanted to do it forever. But youth wasn't forever. All she had left was her business, Ashford Global. She had her own clothing line, Poppy [Fantastic Extravagance], and her own make-up line, Alyssum [Worth Beyond Beauty], that both managed to keep her relevant, but it wouldn't always be enough. She had implanted the idea in her mind that soon enough her spotlight would fade, and she couldn't let that happen....she wouldn't let that happen.
OOC: Alright, so I've really been wanting to play this character...and I have an idea of who to play her with. It will require my partner to play two main characters (male and female). I understand, that's asking for a lot...so please don't message me about this character if you aren't willing to play two MC's. One of the characters, the woman, would be someone she's been seeing for years. And while she may have feelings for her, it's more of a friends with benefits type relationship. The woman would be someone Sutton trusts, as the media and no one else would know of their relationship. The other, would be a young politician, wanting to run for president. I prefer for him to be 35, since that is the youngest you can be to become president. If elected, he would be the youngest president. Sutton would approach the young man with a proposition. A man always needs a strong woman to stand beside him, especially for such a position. With her background, and the way she handles herself in the media, she would suggest herself to be that strong woman. She would propose the idea of a fake marriage, because what would America be without a First Lady? This is basically more of an outline than anything. I am more than happy to hear suggestions. I am open to changes, permitting the make sense for the characters. I don't want this set up to lean any one way. As in endgame for my character would be ending up with so and so.
